“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

— Mahatma Gandhi

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

— Ephesians 5:1-2 (ESV)

“If anyone wants to be My disciple, they must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me.”

— Jesus

This world is in desperate need of the real good news that Jesus has to offer.

But they may never know what they’re missing out on, unless those of us who have experienced the real good news of Jesus for ourselves let that good news change us from the inside out — unless in our following Jesus, we start to actually look and love like Him.

That’s why, as Christians, we need to be having honest, thoughtful discussions about how real faith intersects with real life.

We need more real talk about what Christianity is, what it isn’t, and what that means for real people like you and me (and for every person who crosses paths with us)… and then we need to take what we learn, and actually do something with it.

Jesus Followers, the world is watching. So…

Let’s Be Real.

About Tina Marie

Hello, there!

I'm a writer who's passionate about words. (No, really, I love words. I sometimes fixate on a single word — how it sounds and what it means and why someone used it — for hours at a time.)

I'm also a follower of Jesus, who thinks it's super cool that Jesus was/is "the Word become flesh" (John 1:14). That's probably part of why I often feel compelled to write words about Jesus and the things He said and did, or about things — often words — that stand out to me in His Word (the Bible).

Also, I’m not a huge fan of small talk or fake talk. I’d much rather have a real conversation and cut to the heart of the matter. From what I know about Jesus in the Bible, it seems He preferred the same.

In the spring of 2012, I married my wonderful, pastor-hearted husband Nathan; and our sassy, adventure-loving daughter Ruthy joined our family in the spring of 2019. Together, we live on the east coast of Florida (where all three of us were born and raised), along with our three dogs.

Back in 2021, I joined Word of Life’s Fifty1 writing team — an incredible group of pastors, teachers, writers, editors, artists, and creatives who work together each year to produce quality student ministry curriculum for middle and high school students.

I am currently writing a book… but more about that when the time comes.

Whether you landed on this site by accident, or you’re here on purpose — if you’ll give me the privilege, I’d love to have the chance to be real with you. So why don’t you kick off your shoes and stick around for a while.

I’m so glad you’re here.
